Sailing in Kennebunkport
Set Sail from Kennebunkport aboard the Schooner Eleanor, a traditional gaff rigged schooner built in Kennebunkport, Maine. Flying four sails, with a large teak cockpit and spacious cushioned cabin tops to stretch out on, Eleanor will give you the feel of yachting in the 1930's.

Whale Watches and Harbor Cruises in Kennebunkport
First Chance/Second Chance: Whale watches typically travel approximately 20 miles off shore to Jeffery's Ledge, a feeding ground for several species of whales throughout the summer. Resident whales include minke, finback, white sided dolphins, humpbacks, and the very rare and highly endangered right whale.

Lobster cruises will take you down the Kennebunk River, and out onto the Atlantic Ocean along the coastline of the Kennebunks. The captain gives a brief history lesson and highlights points of interest, including the summer home of President George Bush and Bumpkin Island, home to a colony of harbor seals. A demonstration of lobster harvesting is given on most trips.

Cycling / Biking in Kennebunkport
Cape Able Bike Shop, Kennebunkport, Maine: Just a short drive from the Inn, you can rent a bike or they will deliver them to the Inn for you. Take a number of scenic routes which start right at our front door. If you prefer a mountain bike ride there are some trails we can send you to as well.

Walking, Birding and Cross Country Skiing in Maine
Enjoy the scenery and wildlife at the Wells Reserve at Laudholm Farm, which has seven miles of trails providing access to woodlands, fields, wetlands, beach and dunes. Cross country skiing is a wonderful way to see the coastal countryside. If you've never skied before and want to learn, contact Harris Farm Cross Country Ski Center where you'll ski on 500 acres of groomed trails on a Maine dairy and Maple Tree farm. Kennebunkport, Maine is truly an active seaport resort to enjoy for all seasons.

Fishing in Southern Maine
From light tackle and fly fishing for striped bass and bluefish to deep sea fishing for cod, pollack, haddock, sharks and tuna, there is great fishing all season long, from May through October. There are a number of vessels that will take you to where the fishing is prime, and the local captains know all the best spots. We have information at the Inn and are happy to arrange a charter for you.
