Introducing Parsons, formerly Windemere

We are pleased to unveil the last of our completely renovated guest rooms.  Formerly Windemere, now Parsons, features a funky zebra striped king bed with plush mattress, white on white designer and Matouk bed linens, a twin sleeper sofa, writing desk, 32″ LCD TV/DVD, iPod docking station and a gas fireplace (not yet installed).

While these photos don’t do the room justice, you can see that the previously country/flowery decor has been replaced with cool grey and lavender palette with poppy accents. The room still sleeps 3, please call for details!

Here are a few representational photos that will have to do until the pros come in May to photograph the room!

Introducing James, formerly the Kennebunkport Room

We are pleased to unveil the next of our completely renovated guest rooms.  Formerly Kennebunkport, and now James , features a distressed turned wooden four poster king bed with plush mattress, white on white designer and Matouk bed linens, a chaise lounge, club chair, 32″ LCD TV/DVD, iPod docking station and a gas fireplace (not yet installed).

While these photos don’t do the room justice, you can see that the previously outdated decor has been replaced with a dramatic cherry blossom accent wall, an updated color palate and modern amenities.

Here are a few representational photos that will have to do until the pros come in May to photograph the room!

Introducing Rachel, our newest Room

We are very pleased to introduce the first of three totally renovated guest rooms.  Formerly Brig MacDonough, and now Rachel (after our good friend and celebrated Boston interior Designer Rachel Reider), features a low profile velvet king bed with plush mattress, white on white designer and Matouk bed linens, a sweet little settee, writing desk, 32″ LCD TV/DVD, iPod docking station and a gas fireplace.

While these photos don’t do the room justice, you can see that the previously outdated decor has been replaced with swanky new grass cloth wall coverings, an updated color palate and modern amenities.

Here are a few representational photos that will have to do until the pros come in May to photograph the room!

Renovation notes…

The new pattern in the Dining Room - just a glimpse!

A diary of two tired parents, little Lucie, Hillary and Nate.

The last couple of weeks have been an exercise in keeping the baby happy, paint free and away from any sharp objects used to cut wallpaper. Leigh, Lucie and I pretty much moved into the Inn to help Hillary and Nate tackle the lion’s share of our winter renovations. We’re not done yet but much of the dirty work has been accomplished. We laughed, we cried, at the end of the day we drank some wine!

So, our Kennebunkport Inn has undergone a bit of a transformation over the last couple of weeks. As we prepare for your coast of Maine summer vacation we want to make sure that our Kennebunkport accommodations are top notch. As I have mentioned previously, maybe in a newsletter or on facebook, our plan has been to totally remodel Brig Macdonough, Windemere and the Kennebunkport Room. We’ve also planned to give the living room, dining room and entry hall makeovers.

As you enter the front hall you will notice a sparkling change...

I’m not going to spill all the beans in this note but I’ll give a few glimpses into the new style of the back rooms and commons spaces.

We have been guided by rising star of the design world, Rachel Reider. Rachel led the design efforts at our Nantucket Hotel, the Veranda House. She is getting a lot of well deserved recognition in the design community for bringing a fresh eye and a new approach to her trade.

So enjoy these photos and glimpses of what’s to come. In the next entry I’ll go into more depth about each room that is “under the hammer.”
